| Sep. 5th, 2007 02:07 pm FanTASTic Music Hello all! I need a bit of silly and so am asking you all to help with my latest joke. As in, thing to joke about. Those of you from high school have probably encountered some of the very silly mix CD's that coincided with our senior year dances. Can't remember who rode with me for homecoming, but I'm pretty sure A was there for Turnabout and if Stormy did not have such a great sense of humor, I think prom would have traumatized her. Who knew uberez8 would be so enthusiastic about the baby-eating aliens? Anywho, after Janice got married last Saturday (with, uh, interesting choices in music), everybody kept asking us what music we were going to play. It didn't take very long for it to turn into a running gag between us and the people close enough to hear how many times the question came up. So we're compiling a theoretical list of "sexy" music (i.e. has to make us laugh and/or be fun to listen to) and referring to it as a Honeymoon CD so the whole backstory doesn't have to be explained when it gets brought up. Have I mentioned that Janice has very fun friends? So far: __________'s "Talk Dirty To Me" Metallica's "Closer" whatever-their-name-is's "Bad Touch" Buckcherry's very weird "Crazy" song and I came up with two more on the way home from work today and can NOT remember what they were.
New and unusual song who looks a little bit like a young and slightly creepy Bree Sharp: "What's a Girl to Do?" by Bat For Lashes. You HAVE to see the music video which I came across on www.fabulist.org (which is no longer on the front page but in her music section, linked to at the right) or, of course: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1wnOUH2jk8 So flyingwild, brassdollfin, silveriris, that's for you.
And I have "One Night Stand" by Gunther (add umlaut for me, please) stuck in my head, to my great misfortune. This is probably the least creepy (in a bad way) of his videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SD3s__hWS8o&mode=related&search= ick. just ick. and yet, he's big in Japan. Sorry, pikushi?
Back to the world outside of tube series. The lead singer from Staind is doing a concert in the area soon so I've been hearing a LOT of their songs lately. Some of them always got to me, particularly "Right Here Waiting" whenever things were sad and hurting and I couldn't let go. And now... it's still sad but it's even sadder than usual because whenever I hear it, I can't stop thinking of my lovely Stormy. So here are the lyrics for you, hon, and I hope everything goes well for you. *sad song warning*
I know I've been mistaken But just give me a break and see the changes that I've made I've got some imperfections But how can you collect them all and throw them in my face
But you always find a way to keep me right here waiting You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting And if you chose to walk away I'd still be right here waiting Searching for the things to say to keep you right here waiting
I hope you're not intending To be so condescending it's as much as I can take and you're so independent you just refuse to bend so I keep bending till I break
But you always find a way to keep me right here waiting You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting And if you chose to walk away I'd still be right here waiting Searching for the things to say to keep you right here waiting
I've made a commitment I'm willing to bleed for youI needed fulfillment I found what I need in you Why can't you just forgive me I don't want to relive all the mistakes I've made along the way
But I always find a way to keep you right here waiting I always find the words to say to keep you right here waiting But you always find a way To keep me right here waiting You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting And if I chose to walk away would you be right here waiting Searching for the things to say to keep me right here waiting 3 comments - Leave a comment |
